oh my gosh I am hoping this post makes it to you before you head off to start your day.

Go to the farmers market and grab a bunch – or bunches of asparagus.

you may want to make this pizza a couple of times. I know I did.

um yeah….you see that cheesy browned goodness.

so my local peeps…gruyere cheese you can find at Pierces in the second cheese cooler next to the deli. now the $ price is on the high end. ….BUT…this block of cheese would be enough to make about 4-6 of these pizzas. so you will not be using it all for this one pizza.

and you can NOT omit the Gruyère cheese. NOT an option…in my opinion of course.

we had a rainy night at home enjoying this pizza on a blanket spread out in front of the tv watching a movie. my boys each ate 3 pieces.

yes 3 asparagus and all.

Ok, Angela, you’re too adorable! Thanks for all the kind words. I love your sentence, “she also brought us the quinoa cakes.” It sounds like an advertisement or movie trailer, so cute! I am so happy that your kiddos loved this pizza as well, and that you all hunkered down in front of a movie and had some pizza. That’s the way to go! Sorry that gruyere cheese is so expensive and difficult to find out there. You live in Wisconsin right? Isn’t that the cheese state? Maybe just not for gruyere cheese.
You’ve made me crave this pizza and I think I’m going to include it on my weekly menu this week. The only thing is that asparagus season is coming to a close here in CA, as we have an earlier season than you. I think it actually ends at the end of June (which is this week). I hope you’re enjoying summer. I bet the sun was out late last night. I remember it being out till 10:00 when we lived in MN. We watched the solstice from the top of Mt. Tam last night and it was gorgeous. Ok, off to the grocery store. We’re having friends over tonight and I’m making 2 kale salads and our favorite turkey burgers! xoxo, Jackie

yes you’d think it would be easier to find the gruyere cheese but in my small town it is difficult if i were in Madison it would be much easier and everystore would probably have it…and seriously i am planning on making this again this weekend I can not get enough! here in WI i always feel the asparagus season is too short…well as a whole our vegetable season is too short haha. hope you had a wonderful dinner with friends!

This looks SO unbelievably delicious!! Do you think that the cheese would freeze well? Since I am only cooking for myself, I would have A LOT leftover.
