haha wasn’t that fun…
banana bread is one of my favorite things to make…meaning i make it often. we eat it often.
we eat a lot of bananas but always seem to have 2-3 that get too ripe
or maybe i do that on purpose so i can make the bread? lol
let’s see i’ve made…
and the crazy thing…i’ve made lots more recipes…unfortunatly just none i was too thrilled with so didn’t post about…
until now… Averie of Averie Cooks has the most amazing bread recipes. Well actually everything recipes.
Her stuff is amazing…and amazing to look at.
I followed her recipe to a “T”… since that is what you should do with her recipes.
When you read her posts she tries and tests and tries and tests and only puts out the best.
and she goes further to explain why she is doing what she is doing.
so no sir-e i did not deviate from the recipe….
really when you think about it baking has a lot of science in it…the understanding of all the components…granulated sugar vs. brown sugar…baking soda vs. baking powder…to mix with mixer or by hand? there is a lot of stuff people…so thank goodness for amazing cooks out there that experiment and share the goodness with us me non-science person.
however the only thing i didn’t make was the strawberry butter…sad to say…
gulp…we ate the bread too fast…it came out of the oven and well gone.
no worries i will make again…i just bought myself more bananas
You can find the recipe over at Averie Cooks …
and maybe you will get a chance to make the strawberry butter ?

Thanks for the sweet post and so glad you tried the bread! You just have to remake it now with the strawberry butter or just make the strawberry butter for some toast
Your loaf turned out so nice and puffy! I love it! I bet it tasted so good breaking into that baby!

How yum! I also love banana bread… well, banana anything really. And I love recipes that call for buttermilk! I can’t drink it straight, but I love the flavor it gives to pancakes, muffins, etc.

I so agree Haley I don’t like the flavor of buttermilk alone but baked/cooked in things it is soooo good.
mmm I remember seeing that recipe a while ago. You should definitely make it again with strawberry butter– strawberry butter sounds sooo yummy

Haha, love the line about how you have to follow the recipe to a “T”!
This looks amazing. I’ve never used buttermilk in bread but it sounds like it could only be a good thing.
